Everyone at the table knows the secret word except the Chameleon, who has to fake a clue convincing enough to pass while the group tries to sniff them out.
The Chameleon is a moderator-free party game for 3 to 8 players. A topic card showing a 4x4 grid of 16 related words sits in the middle of the table. Two dice and a personal code card point everyone except the Chameleon to which of those 16 is the secret word this round. Going around the table, each player (Chameleon included) says one word that relates to the secret one. If you know the word, you have to prove it without handing it to the Chameleon. If you're the Chameleon, you're improvising a believable clue with no idea what the word even is. Then the table debates and points at the suspect all at once. A caught Chameleon gets one last shot to name the secret word and slip away. Points carry across rounds, and first to 5 wins.
Everyone but the Chameleon. They each know the secret word and have to give clues that prove it without tipping off the impostor.
WinCorrectly identify and vote out the Chameleon, and have the Chameleon fail to guess the secret word. All non-Chameleon players then score 2 points.
The lone impostor who doesn't know the secret word and has to blend in with one plausible clue.
WinDodge the most votes and escape undetected for 2 points. If you do get caught, correctly guessing the secret word still earns 1 point.
